Four Common Mistakes When Buying Research Peptides Online

Posted on: 28 July 2015

The Internet is often the best way to get refined, high-quality research peptides at affordable prices -- but there are some challenges you might run into when you go to make your purchase. If you want to buy peptides the easy way, here are a few things you might need to look out for.

1. Not Checking When Purchasing Internationally

Many countries have restrictions on where they can send peptides and where they can receive peptides from. If you don't check with the company you're purchasing from, you could find your peptides being denied in customs, even if you have legitimate reasons to purchase them. To make it easier, you may want to purchase directly from a domestic company. This will also remove issues of exchange rates and taxes.

2. Not Checking the Mail Promptly

Peptides and proteins can be sensitive to extreme heat or cold. Though they will be kept safe while they are in transit, "baking" in a mailbox or even freezing during the winter months may affect their quality. If you're concerned about your peptides spending too much time in the mail, make sure that they get delivered directly to your office or to a post office box in a climate-controlled area. Many peptide companies will also send peptides via next day mail or express mail, to get them to you faster.

3. Not Checking the Form and Suspension

Peptides are often shipped in either a water soluble compound or in a powder form. As peptides are generally specified by the peptide type rather than the form and suspension, you should check to make sure you're getting your peptides how you need them before you order. Your peptide company may be able to create a special order for your laboratory if you need a large amount of a suspension or form that they don't have in inventory.

4. Not Asking About Purity

Peptides are rarely ever 100% pure. However, many reputable companies offer at least 98% in purity. It's a good idea to check with an online vendor regarding the purity of their peptides before you start your order. Different companies may have different purity levels of the same product.

Purchasing research peptides online is convenient, fast and simple. Moreover, it allows you to make sure that your laboratory is working with only the best quality of peptides. If you're uncertain about making an order, check in with the company beforehand. They can answer any questions you have about their products and the process of purchasing.
